As a growing Digital Marketing and SEO agency focusing on humanitarian mission and social responsibility, we participated in bayanihan efforts to extend our arms to the evacuees of the Taal volcano eruption. In partnership with Go Share Philippines, the Association of Medical Doctors of Asia – International, the Association of Medical Doctors of Asia – Philippines, AMSA-Philippines, and the City of Sto. Tomas, we were able to assist evacuees in the area.
Taal Volcano began to show unrest in the early days of January this year and began to spew gases, ashes, and lava. On January 12, a phreatomagmatic eruption occurred in the volcano’s main crater. The volcanic activity shot ash and hot magma 17 to 21 kilometers high into the air, posing a deadly dilemma for people living in the southern Philippines.
As the volcano continues to show unrest, the Department of Science and Technology’s Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (DOST-PHIVOLCS) closely monitors its activities and imposes alert levels accordingly. They have also requested the residents living near the volcano to evacuate their homes.
